Four People Shot at Howe Community Park – Unsanctioned Gathering Ends in Shooting





On April 18 2026, an unsanctioned event of multiple hundreds of attendees at Howe Community Park in Sacramento County's Arden-Arcade neighborhood ended in a shooting when between 20 and 25 shots were fired as Sacramento County Sheriff's Office deputies were actively breaking up the gathering.

How It Unfolded

At approximately 6:30 PM, the Sacramento County Sheriff was alerted concerning individuals who may have been carrying concealed weapons at Howe Park. A second caller reported a potential fight and individuals fleeing the scene.

Air support was sent to the area and searched the park but failed to identify any ongoing altercation.

Despite this, a large crowd had come together at Howe Community Park for what the sheriff's office identified as an unauthorized event. Deputies encircled the park, turned on their emergency lights, and spent approximately 15 minutes announcing over loudspeakers for people to leave using public address systems.

The Victims
